Some personal stuff
“Everybody knows what the Blues is about. It’s about a pain you can’t live with and a woman you can’t live without.”
-The Story Of The Blues. From the Gary Moore CD, After Hours
“Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense.”

- Jessi has been a great friend for about 7 years. She is a young married woman from the southern U.S. She is also insightful, kind and quick with a sharp, dry wit. Just the kind of person that is a perfect friend for me. Jessi, with the help of her husband, Sven; is a ‘Blues hunter’. We all enjoy music, often with friends or family. I enjoy telling her about new music I’ve come across, and she is happy to tell me about her discoveries. Recently she told me about a California band called The Red Devils.
- My friends, Joe and Alexandria live in Kelona BC. If you are interested in learning about the centuries old art of Tantra for improving your mental, emotional, and sexual health; then Alexandria is the person to see. Here is a link to Alexandria’s Sacred Tanta site
- MUD DOG, one of BC’s best (and most underrated) rocking Delta Blues Bands has a website up and it’s first CD Release Party on March 7 2003. Click Mud Dog For more information.
September 12 2006 was a great day! Spent the whole day at the Maple Ridge Jazz/Blues festival. It was so much fun!

Lately I’ve been reading and learning about critical thinking and logic. I claim no special expertise or insight as a result of this, but it has given me a different perspective on most everything. Even with my basic experience in critical thinking, it has become easy to see how creative people can be in creating their realities. This isn’t a bad thing, per se.. We all create our realities, after all. It does keep things interesting. As a consequence, I’m required to stay sharp in expressing my own thoughts. In some ways, this is an indulgence, but its a good one. It’s important to keep the brain cells firing. Perhaps I’ll overcome the cowardice that keeps these thoughts in silence.
A good looking bunch. Caitlyn, Nolan, Jim and Steve (September 2005)
During the last week of September my Dad and brother flew in for a visit. Three days was too short, even so, a great time was had by all. They will be coming back at the end of February, along with my Uncle Jay. Everybody is looking forward to this.

I love music, and most anything to do with music. Not that rap garbage that the brain-dead types listen to, I’m talking about real music. Everything from Gershwin to Aerosmith, Beatles to blues. I make no apologies for my musical opinions. There are noises the record companies call music and try to get you to buy , but it’s not music. In many ways, rap is just reflective of the culture it comes from. That is what makes it marginally interesting. I could well go on and on about this, it’s one of those things I feel strongly about.
A few other things. I love good food (of almost any kind), sick and twisted humor, and intelligent conversation. Exploring the mind, provides an interesting reflection on yourself. Intelligent people with original ideas make me think and make me question those things I thought I was sure about. I like that, it keeps these old brain cells from getting too lazy.
“It is the struggle itself that is most important. We must strive to be more than we are.It does not matter that we will never reach our ultimate goal. The effort yields its own rewards.”

I’m not with you on the Beatles by any means, but other than that I think we’re pretty compatible in terms of musical taste.
Come visit DC and I’ll drag you to the best open mike blues night on the East Coast.
